Travis is one of the founders and owners of Gold Comb Barbershop. He has been cutting hair and living in North Park since 2013. He enjoys doing haircuts with clippers on the sides and scissor work on top. He is also skilled at beard trims, preferring to leave the beard longer with natural lines (think groomed but subtle). If you are looking for longer haircuts e.g. shaggy haircuts, swept-back sides, or variations of a mullet, please refer to our other barbers. We all have different strengths, experience, and training.
Travis enjoys talking about basketball, football, sci-fi, science, music, and most comedies and dramas on Netflix and other streaming services.

Monica's been cutting hair since 2010, she's confident with all styles and hair textures. Believing that hair shouldn’t be a hassle, she strives to give her clients low maintenance hairstyles that continue to look great while growing out. Her favorite is longer looser styles.
In 2015 she helped open Gold Comb Barbershop alongside Travis and Adam, where they have striven to create an environment where all can feel good and look good.
She is a San Diego Native who grew up with the beach and enjoys climbing, hiking, camping, roller skating, and most of all- coffee and crafting.

Born and raised in Queens, NY, Adam began cutting in 2011 at the upscale Brooklyn based barbershop, Persons of Interest. In 2013 he moved to San Diego with his wife and two children and began building a loyal clientele on the west coast. After working at a couple of different shops, Adam opened Gold Comb in late 2015 with friends and fellow barbers, Travis and Monica. When he's not at the shop, Adam enjoys playing guitar, going to shows and weekend camping trips with his family and friends.

Gizel is a San Diego native and has been in the hair industry for 5 years. She enjoy skin fades, working with curly hair, and all other hair types/styles. Whether it's a beard trim or a full transformation, She's always up for it.
When she's not working, Gizel enjoys playing video games, checking out new music of all genres, and traveling.
Late + Cancellation policy: 10 minute grace period before a $10 charge and 15 minutes late will result in cancelation with a request of full payment.

Nick was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri and has come to San Diego by way of Denver, Colorado. He is a versatile barber who enjoys a little bit of everything from fades to scissor work. Tristan Painter

Tristan Painter was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. He’s a second generation barber who made his way to San Diego in 2017. He lived in San Francisco for a year where he honed in his craft and has since moved back down to San Diego. He’s versatile in all areas of barbering but loves working with his shears, specializing in longer modern styles.
When Tristan isn’t cutting hair he’s mostly spending time with his family and newborn son, surfing or hanging at a park.

Ronnie was born and raised in San Diego. He enjoys working with short fades to all things scissor work. Precision hair cutting and shape are his specialty. When he isn’t working he is playing guitar for his son, chillin with his wife and dog, or disc golfing around San Diego.
